This is the School of Medicine Data Storage and Application Hosting technical information website.

Beginning in March 2011, the UCSD School of Medicine will begin offering expanded IT support services that will include:

• backup storage
  • suitable for backing up primary data stored elsewhere on campus
  • minimal access - update backups, recover lost data
• replicated data storage
  • provides primary data storage
  • includes snapshot backups stored at an alternate location on campus
  • NFS and/or Samba access from locations on campus
• virtual machines for hosting applications
  • Virtual Machines with 2GB or 4GB RAM
  • You manage your VM, or use our infrastructure for repeatable, scalable VM deployment
• audio/video conferencing access

In additon to these offerings will be the technical support, consulting, and design services necessary to establish

• a coherent migration plan
• appropriate network connectivity
• user access details, etc.
