In March 2011, the UCSD School of Medicine began offering expanded IT support services that include:
- virtual machines for hosting applications
- Standard configurations (2GB/1CPU/50GB) or (4GB/2CPU/100GB)
- Other configurations available (cost adjusted accordingly)
- additional, NFS mounted storage can be purchased separately, by the TB
- You manage your VM, or use our infrastructure for repeatable, scalable VM deployment
- replicated data storage
- provides primary data storage
- includes snapshot backups stored at an alternate on-campus location
- NFS and/or Samba access from locations on campus
- backup storage
- suitable for backing up primary data stored elsewhere on campus
- suitable for backing up workstations and laptops
- minimal access - update backups, recover lost data
- audio/video conferencing access
- Support for audio or video teleconferencing
- Uses Polycom VTC equipment
- a coherent migration plan
- appropriate network connectivity
- user access details, etc.
- appropriate SECURITY managment
